What happens when you open a file
The browser reads the file you choose and keeps the working document in memory while the page is open. The PDF tools run in this browser and create the output here. The app does not send document contents to a processing server. Downloading saves a result through your browser; it does not directly overwrite the original source file.
What the website still loads
Your browser requests the website’s HTML, scripts, styles and other assets. PDF rendering and OCR may load additional bundled code or language data. These requests are separate from your document contents. A hosting provider may receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address, requested URL and user agent.
The app does not include advertising pixels or document-content analytics. This explanation describes the application’s current behavior; your browser, extensions, device management software and network have their own privacy settings.
Saved signatures stay in this browser
If you choose to save a reusable signature, the app stores that signature in local browser storage. Saved signatures can remain after you close the page. Remove an unwanted signature in the signature dialog, or clear this site’s browser data. On a shared device, avoid saving a signature for later use.
Keep a copy of work you want to keep
The app does not provide a cloud account or cloud backup. Download your finished document before closing or refreshing the editor. Your browser may keep downloads or retain site data according to its own settings. Anyone with access to those downloaded files can read them unless you protect them separately.
Local processing has practical limits
Large files and OCR can use substantial memory and processing time. What works comfortably depends on your device, browser and document. The site must load its required assets, so local file processing is not a promise that every tool is available without an internet connection on a fresh visit.
Visual cover-ups are not secure redaction
Whiteout and other shapes can hide something on the page without removing the underlying content. Do not use them to permanently remove sensitive information. A drawn, typed or image signature is also different from a certificate-backed digital signature and does not provide identity verification or an audit trail.
